The Inclusive Collective began in 2015 at University of Illinois at Chicago as it was viewed as a microcosm of what the United States is becoming in diversity. Where other ministries were not inclusive nor seeking justice, the Inclusive Collective is a growing ministry to help fill a large gap for students asking big questions. It provides a space for healing, exercising leadership skills and support for change.
From the “Mission Links: Living the Beatitudes” booklet:
“Our ministry isn’t perfect. But we’re striving to create a relevant, honest, and truly INCLUSIVE Christian community at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and Northern Illinois University (NIU). No matter who you are – LGBTQ and straight, liberal and conservative, seeker and skeptic, freshman and grad students and young adults – all are welcomed and loved here”.
