Trinity is one of the few churches invited to participate in CCSD 59 Back to School Events. These are golden opportunities to take the church out of the building to meet and greet our neighbors! Friday’s event will be held at John Jay Elementary School, 1835 Pheasant Trail, Mount Prospect. Saturday’s event will be held at Black Hawk Mobile Home Park, 400 W. Touhy, Des Plaines. Save the dates to help with Summer Suppers at Trinity: September 8.
Summer Suppers began 12 years ago as a way to provide food for the homeless when the PADS season closed for the summer months. It is hosted by local churches in our community. Every evening from May 1 through September 30 a host church serves a hot meal from 6:30 -7:30pm. Summer Suppers reaches beyond the homeless and provides a free meal to all families who are in need. Help is needed for set up, serving and cleanup. Please arrive at Trinity Hall by 5:15pm.

Way back in March Sunday school children decided to support people in need and began collecting “Coins for a Cause.” We talked about many worthy organizations, ministries and outreach missions right here at Trinity and around the world. Each child made their own choice. and collected coins throughout the Lenten season. By Easter, $91.62 was collected for the people of Ukraine and $39.34 for PADS/Summer Suppers. Thank you, Trinity Kids for your generous spirit and willingness to take action to serve others!
The Mount Prospect Interfaith Council is made up of Village representatives, civic leaders and faith-based organizations in our local area. The Council was formed in the 1980’s and shepherded over the years by Mayor Carolyn Krause (St. Mark Lutheran Church) and Mayor Skip Farley (Trinity member) as well as many pastors and spiritual leaders. The group has evolved in its purpose and mission. Today we meet quarterly for conversation, community and connection. We share information about our organizations and invite others to partner and participate.
