Trinity Mission Moment for October

October’s mission emphasis is PADS. The PADS Emergency Shelter Program provides hospitality, food and overnight shelter to the homeless. PADS is one of the programs offered through Journeys/The Road Home, a non-profit agency, that also includes, the HOPE CENTER Supportive Services Program and the Pathways Housing Readiness Program, all focusing on assisting those in need.

Trinity began its active role in PADS 30 years ago. Trinity provided overnight shelter, a hot dinner, breakfast and a sack lunch one night a week from October 1 to April 30th.  Our PADS site closed with the pandemic. Journeys made arrangements to house the homeless guests in area hotels. We have donated $5,000 to support Journeys Hotel program and continue to provide a hot meal for 50 guests twice a month. Your support is greatly appreciated as we follow Jesus’s lead to minister to the less fortunate.

Outreach Requests

Hello Trinity! We are in need of more items for the food pantry. Also, household cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, feminine hygiene products and diapers for School District 59. Please drop off your donation in the blue bins by the front doors of the Narthex. As always, thank you for your support!  – The Outreach Missions Team

September 26 Mission Moment

The Inclusive Collective began in 2015 at University of Illinois at Chicago as it was viewed as a microcosm of what the United States is becoming in diversity. Where other ministries were not inclusive nor seeking justice, the Inclusive Collective is a growing ministry to help fill a large gap for students asking big questions. It provides a space for healing, exercising leadership skills and support for change.
