“Thy will be done,” Disciple-making, and Daily Bread
In last week’s Tidings, we shared appreciation for several folks who are taking important steps toward strengthening children’s ministry at Trinity. Some have formal degrees in education. Others have no training or teaching experience whatsoever. One thing all these leaders have in common is their response to Jesus’ call to ministry on a mountain in Galilee long ago.
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20 CEB)
As we live into the season of Lent, and pray The Lord’s Prayer each day, consider these questions for reflection:
What is my role in disciple-making of young people at Trinity?
How are my ministry choices informed by “thy will be done”?
In what ways am I fulfilling promises made at children’s baptisms?
What spiritual nourishment am I providing children from my own supply of “daily bread”?
Holy God, we praise you and we love you. Lead us. Guide us. Thy will be done. Amen.
