World Communion Sunday October 3

This Sunday we celebrate World Communion Sunday, a reminder of our interconnectedness across the globe, with other Christians.  If you have a special bread to share from YOUR ethnic heritage, we hope you will bring it to place on the communion table on Sunday.  It can be sweet, savory, or somewhere in between.  Due to covid-safety, we won’t share it during communion, but we’ll move it to the coffee hour table for after worship. Signs will be provided so that you tell us about the bread you are offering, and its ethnic origin/significance.

Trinity Treasures Welcomes You Back!

We will gather in Trinity Hall on Thursday, September 8 at 11:30 a.m., and continue meeting on the second Thursday of each month. Bring your own little lunch. We will provide coffee, water and lemonade. If you would like, you may bring some dessert to share. Please sign up that you plan on coming on the “Sign Up Sheet” on the table in the Narthex. If you couldn’t be present in-person for the Blessing of the Backpacks on Sunday, there is a backpack tag waiting for you at the church! A prayer to begin the school year:

  • God, our friend who is always with us, be with us as we begin a new school year.
  • Be with us as we ride the bus.
  • Be with us as we learn at home and in our school buildings.
  • Be with us as we walk.
  • Be with us as we buckle seat belts, zip-up jackets, and tie shoes. However we get there, and whatever we wear, bless this journey into something new.
  • For the grown-ups going back to school, With-Us God, be with them too.
  • Thank you for our teachers, support staff, bus drivers, helpers, caregivers, and leaders, and for all they do to help us learn and grow.
  • God, our friend who’s full of wonder, bless us with minds and hearts ready to learn!  Amen.

Trinity Invited to CCSD 59 Back to School Events this Weekend

Once again Trinity Church has been invited to participate in back-to-school events hosted by Community Consolidated School District 59.  We are excited to connect in-person with families, provide children’s activities, and share information about Trinity with our neighbors at John Jay Elementary on August 5 and Oasis Mobile Home Park on August 6th.

Last year Trinity was the only church represented at the Back to School Fair! It was hugely successful in terms of building awareness,  generating goodwill in the community, and moving us closer to meeting two of our Team 2020 goals:

  • Identify who is our neighbor and what they are looking for
  • Build bridges of relational connection with new people.

Show up with Trinity this weekend between 11am-1:30 pm!
