Christmas Gifts for Salt Creek School Kids
It’s that special time of year again! Salt Creek School is hoping to make this holiday season bright for those in need of assistance. We are hoping that families can sponsor a Salt Creek student(s) in need for the holidays through our “Giving Tree” program. Please spend at least $40 per child. Below is the link to our sponsor form with listed student information. SC Giving Tree Sponsor Form
Once the form is submitted, you will receive an email with the student’s wishlist, consisting of clothing and toys. If you wish to sponsor multiple families, please submit a new form for each family. Families needing sponsors are being continually added – so please check back often!
Please bring the unwrapped items in a STURDY GIFT BAG without tissue paper (please label the family number on the bag) to Trinity Church by December 11th.
Your support is greatly appreciated! Please reach out to Arllette Antunez, Community Outreach Specialist, with any questions – antunez.arllette@ccsd59.org.

Help Kids Above All Support Gun Legislation
IN 2020, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, FIREARMS WERE THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH FOR CHILDREN.
For too long, politicians have prioritized the profits and campaign contributions of firearm manufacturers, the gun lobby and their allies over the lives of our children and families.
This year alone, the United States has endured more than 400 mass shootings, resulting in the deaths of over 1,000 children and teens ages 0-17. (gunviolencearchive.org)
76% of those shootings that occurred in public involved an assault weapon and/or high-capacity magazine. (Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund)
Take action to make a meaningful difference in the lives of a young person who has lost a family member to gun violence, tell your state elected officials to support legislation that will ban assault weapons in Illinois, and provide critical resources to kids and families who have experienced trauma.
