Trinity’s April Mission Moment: PADS, Feeding the Unhoused, and Summer Suppers…Trinity’s Ongoing Mission to Serve the Homeless

Journeys: The Road Home is a community-based nonprofit serving Chicago’s North and Northwest suburbs. Located in Palatine, the HOPE Center offers free services such as a food pantry, laundry and showers, mail and transportation assistance, and case management, including housing, job, mental health, healthcare, and legal support.
Trinity has been committed to serving the homeless for over 30 years, adapting through COVID-19 and beyond. While we no longer house guests overnight, we continue to provide support:
– During COVID, we donated funds and meals twice a month to Journey’s hotel shelter program.
– Last summer, we joined the Summer Suppers program, offering monthly meals in Trinity Hall.
– This past winter, we prepared meals monthly for guests at Journey’s Interim Housing program at the HOPE Center, feeding 40–50 guests each time.
☀️ Summer Suppers Return in May!
We will again host Summer Suppers at Trinity on the second Friday of each month (May–September). Next Meal: Friday, May 9. We need volunteers to provide: Potato/hashbrown casserole | Rolls | Vegetables | Salad | Fruit or Jello salad. To volunteer, please contact Kathy Moulds directly or through the church office. Monetary donations are also appreciated—give online or use the red-striped mission envelopes in the pews.
