Trinity is joining a community-wide plastic bag drive for Earth Month – and beyond! Thank you Nancy Murray (and Trinity United Methodist Women Susanna Wesley Circle) for initiating and managing!
Most trash haulers do not allow plastic bags in the recycling bin because plastic bags harm their machines. This local organization (www.cleanupgiveback.org) is asking the community to save your plastic bags. We have a collection bin near the outside doors to/from the narthex! The organization’s goal is to donate bags to a company that makes outdoor furniture and decks – and a bench which will be presented to the community in September.
Acceptable plastic items (basically anything plastic except plastic bottles which should go into recycling bins): grocery bags, bread/produce/ice bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, plastic shipping envelopes, pallet/bulk paper good coverings.
